At the Child Development Center of Jackson County, we believe our employees are the heart of everything we do. In child care, the role of staff goes far beyond supervision—it’s about nurturing growth, building trust, and creating a safe, joyful learning environment.

All staff members are required to maintain up-to-date training in Early Childhood Education, as well as:

• 🩺 First Aid & CPR

• 🦠 Communicable Disease Recognition & Management

• 🛡️ Child Abuse & Neglect Recognition, Reporting & Prevention

• 🧼 Proper Hand-Washing Techniques

• 🍽️ USDA Food Program Policies & Procedures

• 📋 State of Ohio Child Care Licensing Requirements

As a Star Rated Program, our team also completes a minimum of 10 additional hours of specialized Early Childhood Education training each year—ensuring our staff stay current with best practices and evolving standards.

📝 Employment Requirements

Before joining our team, prospective employees must:

• Provide professional references

• Pass State and Federal background checks (fingerprinting required)

• Complete a physical exam

• Agree to our drug testing and personnel policies

• Attend mandatory orientation

• Successfully complete a 3-month probationary period with performance evaluation

Current employees must:

• Renew BCII fingerprint checks every four years

• Sign an annual non-conviction statement
